Service Description
These introductory sessions are a wonderful way to get a feel for working with clay on the wheel, a practice which is known as ‘throwing.’ Each student will have their own wheel and be carefully taught by an expert instructor. Students will learn to develop foundations of wedging, centering, and creating different shapes and forms on the wheel. This class will cover the basics of the pottery process in a fun and engaging environment allowing each student to discover, develop, and create their art-form! We keep the class at a maximum of eight persons ensuring more participation, more individual attention, and greater communication between the instructor and students. Kids will develop the foundations of wedging, centering, and creating forms on the wheel. This class is great for beginners and allows for additional assistance to those who come with experience. We proudly provide SHIMPO VL-WHISPER pottery wheels which use an exceptional Direct Drive motor. This is a brush-less, belt-less motor that operates on a magnet system and is electronically controlled. As a result, the motor is EXTREMELY quiet! We also provide a boutique pottery studio space distinct in its cleanliness, organization, and welcoming environment. The minimum age to register for this class is 12 years old.
