Service Description
Unleash your creativity with our Sgraffito Workshop and learn the intricate art of Sgraffito! This technique originated in Italy as far back as the 6th century. Sgraffito derives from an Italian word meaning “to scratch.” It is used to create stunning and unique designs by putting a layer of glaze or slip on a piece of pottery, letting it dry, then using a pottery carving tool to scratch a design showing the base layer of color. With this workshop, participants will learn about Sgraffito, have a chance to experiment with different scratching techniques, and finally apply their individual design and motifs to a premade 8 inch hexagon plate. All plates will be the same shape and the color used will be dark blue. The studio will take the project to completion by monitoring the drying process, bisque firing, and finally glaze firing. Finished items will be ready to go home within 4 weeks time. **Work not picked up after three months is considered a donation to the studio. Minimum age to register for this class is 18 years old.

Refunds and Cancellations: Classes are subject to change if the minimum student quota isn't met (5 students). Refund or a Credit (minus $30 cancellation fee due to credit card fees) is given for requests received one week before the start of a session by emailing info@artsybeast.com. Class fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. No refunds will be given for missed one-time classes or workshops, regardless of reason.
