Sgrafitto Workshop
Sgraffito Workshop: Explore the Timeless Art of Pottery Design
Service Description
Join us for an immersive Sgraffito workshop, where you’ll learn this intricate pottery technique that dates back to 6th-century Italy. "Sgraffito," meaning “to scratch,” involves layering a glaze or slip on pottery, allowing it to dry, and then using carving tools to create stunning designs that reveal the base color beneath. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll not only practice surface carving techniques but also have the freedom to choose from a variety of design themes, including holiday motifs, koi fish, cherry blossoms, and more. Your personal designs will be applied to a pre-made 8-inch round plate with a beautiful dark blue base. Our studio will handle the full finishing process, including drying, bisque firing, and glaze firing. Your completed masterpiece will be ready for pickup in approximately three weeks. Open to participants aged 18 and above. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn this timeless art form—secure your spot today! **Please note:** Work not picked up after three months will be considered a donation to the studio.
