Service Description
Clay Discovery is a hands-on class where kids get to slow down, work with their hands, and explore clay in a calm, welcoming studio. We focus on handbuilding techniques like coiling, slab building, and sculpting, helping kids turn their ideas into real pieces they’re excited to bring home. Each class blends gentle instruction with plenty of room for creativity. Some weeks kids make functional pieces like bowls or cups, other weeks they sculpt, experiment with texture, or follow their own ideas. Along the way, they build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a real sense of pride in what they create. This class is a great fit for kids who are brand new to clay and for those who already have some experience and want to keep building. The studio atmosphere is supportive, patient, and playful… kids are encouraged to explore at their own pace and enjoy the process. How enrollment works: Clay Discovery runs in 4-week sessions. Families start by signing up for a child’s first 4-week session, which gives kids time to settle in, get comfortable with the studio, and see if the class feels like a good fit. If your child would like to continue after that first session, parents then choose whether to enroll in automatic enrollment to reserve their child’s spot for future sessions. Classes tend to fill quickly, and this helps keep spots consistent once kids are settled and happy in the class. Each child’s session is tied to their start date, rather than a fixed calendar block, which allows flexibility as space opens up for new students.
Cancelation Policy
Refunds and Cancellations Kids Classes: Missed classes due to failure to attend, planned absences, minor illnesses, or vacations will not be credited for future classes. All class dates are posted for your review and convenience during the booking process. Adult Classes: Each student is allowed 2 make-up sessions per 8-week session. These make-ups can be used for any missed class during the session. All make-up sessions must be completed within the same 8-week session and cannot carry over unless express permission is given. For instructions on how to make-up a class, please see the Attendance Policies page on the site (under "More"). Additional time in the studio can always be scheduled for an Open Studio for $35 a session. Workshops: No refunds will be given for missed one-time classes or workshops, regardless of reason. Summer Camps: Cancellation must be received in writing via email to info@artsybeast.com 4 weeks or 20 work days before the session begins. All: Classes are subject to change if the minimum student quota isn't met (5 students). Refund or a Credit (minus $30 cancellation fee due to credit card fees) is given for requests received one week before the start of a session by emailing info@artsybeast.com. No refunds will be given after a multi-week class has begun. Class fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.
