Service Description

Instructor: Jill Ross Meltzer The Pottery Wheel class consists of eight consecutive sessions lasting two and half hours each. We keep the class at a maximum of ten persons ensuring more participation, more individual attention, and greater communication between the instructor and students. Come to develop the foundations of centering, wedging, and throwing forms on the wheel. This class will cover the basics of the pottery process for beginners and allow for further development of those who come with experience. We proudly provide SHIMPO VL-WHISPER pottery wheels which use an exceptional Direct Drive motor. This is a brush-less, belt-less motor that operates on a magnet system and is electronically controlled. As a result, the motor is EXTREMELY quiet! We also provide a boutique pottery studio space distinct in its cleanliness, organization, and welcoming environment. Each student will have a dedicated 30 x 14 inch shelf for their work, have access to core studio glazes, pottery tools, and receive bisque and glaze firings for forms under 7 inches. (8 inches and over will be charged at .03 cents per cubic inch) Students will receive a 25 pounds bag of clay with each new session. Once in the wheel throwing class, students will be automatically enrolled every 8 weeks. To stop enrollment students will need to notify the studio via email at least two weeks prior to the end of the session they are in. The minimum age to register for this class is 18 years old.
